Oxeye daisy
Oxeye daisy is a perennial plant that spreads both by rhizome and by seed.  It is found throughout Indiana but is most severe to our north.
The plant's showy flower is about 1-2 inches in diameter with a yellow center and white to gray petals.  Mature Oxeye daisy plants are usually less than 2 feet tall.
The seeds are oval and black with 8 to 10 rows of ridges running lengthwise on the seed.  This weed is found especially in uncultivated areas on poor soils.  It does not compete well with crops on fertile soils.
