Hoary cress is a perennial that is also often referred to as perennial peppergrass or white top. It is not as common in Indiana as in areas to our west. The plant can spread by seed or via a very deep and extensive root system. One plant may spread for many feet in any direction. The leaves take on a slightly gray appearance because of the very fine, white colored hair growing on the leaf surfaces. | |
The small seeds are oval-shaped, reddish-brown in color and have a rough surface. |
