Orchardgrass
Orchardgrass is a "bunch" grass that is used primarily in pastures and grows in bundles.  It is very productive early in the season and can provide forage before other species in the spring.  Orchardgrass is easy to identify because the leaf sheaths are very large and compressed or flattened.
The seeds of orchardgrass are about the same size as those of Tall fescue and ryegrass however, their pointed end is bent or twisted to one side.  This is the easiest way to identify orchardgrass seeds.  A high percentage of the seeds will have this characteristic bend.
